Timothy Alan ‘Tim’ Dick was born in Denver, Colorado USA, on 13 June 1953 – his zodiac sign is Gemini, and he holds American nationality. He’s perhaps still known best for his portrayal of the lead character Tim ‘The Tool Man’ Taylor in the family comedy series “Home Improvement”, which also starred Earl Hindman and Taran Noah Smith. It follows the life of the TV show host ‘The Tool Man’, and aired from 1991 to 1999, winning 50 awards including seven Primetime Emmys, while it was nominated for 62 other awards.

Tim was raised in Denver alongside his four brothers and a sister, by their father Gerald M. When Tim was 11, his father died in a car crash after he was hit by a drunk driver; his mother married her high school sweetheart two years later. She then moved with all her children to Birmingham in Michigan, where Tim attended Seaholm High School, and became interested in both acting and playing the piano. Tim had actually launched his career in 1975 when he began doing stand-up comedy, while he soon started appearing in TV commercials.

On 2 October 1978, he was arrested for drug trafficking, and was sentenced to spend three to seven years behind bars, after he had given the police names of other drug traffickers; Tim was released from jail on 12 June 1981, after having served two years and four months.

After 10 years of doing comedy and appearing in various shows, Tim gained recognition with his starring role in “Home Improvement”, and during the eight years he was shooting for it, he also had roles in various other series and movies, including voicing Buzz Lightyear, the main character in the hit animated comedy movie “Toy Story”.

The 2000s saw him appear in various films, such as the 2002 Christmas comedy “The Santa Claus 2”, the 2004 Christmas comedy “Christmas with the Kranks”, and the 2008 martial arts drama “Redbelt”.
